I suspect your beef with him is not his ability but that he wasn't playing the style of music you wanted to hear. I might add that throwing off on Chet Atkins' ability is a good way to get yourself branded as an idiot.

Thank you. I am most honoured. But it is all true, apart from the typo. @picker50, I hope I am to be taken seriously. Most modern guitarist play in time and not just all over the place, but thanx for the comment.

Perhaps it is because I am not a guitar player or even love I have never heard of Chet Atkins. Also, perhaps it is because I live in the UK, I do not know. But Chet Atkins means nothing to me at all! And, listening to him on a few videos here on You Tube, I did not think he was that good as a muscian! Don't get me wrong, he could of been great, but just has not got that edge. Its a real pity he did not live long enough to perfect his art. Another 20 years may of done it for him.

Whoever he is?? Where have you been living the last fifty years while Chet Atkins was making guitar history?? This is the man who virtually taught the world how to play guitar, world renowned as "Mr Guitar" and he has fan clubs world wide and you say whoever he is? This is the man whose name is synonymous with guitar who put guitar on the map, and you say whoever he is? This is the man who inspires millions worldwide, who put Nashville on the map, and you say whoever he is? Holy cripes!
