The Dark Knight was wonderful, but it will never replace a classic like this!

This scene is one advantage this Batman movie holds over The Dark Knight.
The Joker's origin was well inspired from the Comics, in the 1989 movie.
And that's why it will remain an important classic, even if The Dark Knight is a greater movie.
As for Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger, they both rock as the Joker.
